Read aloud on an Android phone or tablet
Due to the fact that Android phones and tablets differ from each other based on the manufacturer and version, it is not possible to give precise guidance, but reading aloud is possible on an Android phone and tablet. You will find the ‘Select to Speak’ option in the Accessibility settings. If you install the Google Camera app, you can also get it to read aloud any text that is shown in images – this would include the page of a book. Select to Speak does also allow you to do other things on your device whilst leaving the text reading in the background.
